Mixed feelings. Excellent acting and great play but I wasn't in the mood for it.
On top of that I was tired and we had v uncomfy seats.
Often for theatre club we want something that will help us relax and you can't really relax or switch off with this. Ian McKellen was formidable. Fabulous from start to end. Other actors were excellent too and Matthew Kelly was surprisingly good.
It is such a multi-faceted play. Really glad we've finally seen a Beckett. It said so much about living, dying, about servitude, about the class system and about religion.
The problem with theatre club (I've finally realised) is that we always see things on an evening and if you've had a tough/long day at work, sometimes it is the last thing that you want/need. Unfortunately Waiting for Godot was a victim of that for me.
(Plus, not a particularly nice meal at Miso beforehand)

Yes, I agree about the end of a long day at work being the wrong time to see something like this. I think most of it passed me by. Especially in the uncomfy seats we always end up in at the theatre Royal Haymarket, since they are the only ones vaguely reasonably priced. Shame. I'd been wanting to see it for a while, it being Beckett and probably his most famous play, and starring Sir Ian to boot.

Waiting for Godot. Some smart arse said its a play where nothing happens, twice.

Pretty accurate.

Spot on with this write-up, I actually assume this web site needs far more consideration. I’ll probably be once more to read far more, thanks for that info.

I simply had to thank you very much again. I'm not certain the things that I would have taken care of in the absence of the actual points contributed by you regarding such subject. It became the distressing dilemma for me personally, however , looking at a new skilled fashion you dealt with the issue forced me to cry with gladness. I'm happy for the guidance and pray you really know what a great job you have been accomplishing educating other individuals by way of your site. More than likely you haven't got to know all of us.
